The most importance thing to be success, the products should be multifunction.
Nowadays, all people around the world, if they have an option, absolutely they will use one item to be used in many circumstances. Either we promote via youtube, website or etc, depends on the products to make your sales to achieve the target.
True! But what I want to know is do they convert well? Or do people just view the videos without actually caring about the links/website on the videos.

What do you meant actually..?
OK..let it goes..
People whose are viewing videos from youtube can just view it without concern the link/website of the videos..If you are interested to know where is the link, I don't think that you will know because those are uploaded by the member. But, what you can do are download the videos using realplayer to keep it by your own.
I wish I answered your ques.
Oops oops! Guess I was'nt clear with my question.
Let us say I'm an affiliate of a product. I promote that product by making a video of it and upload it on youtube. Now, the video without my affiliate link would'nt be of any worth unless I have a link in it, right?
So to put an affiliate link I can 1. Show the link in the video itself (at the start or end of the video) or put my link as a watermark on the entire video (which I don't think is a good option). 2. Put the link in the video description.
Now my question is will this strategy work? The people who watch my video, will they be interested to type in my affiliate link or visit it from the description?

OK geek.
Those of your strategies are good. I've experienced this before. Not myself but a friend of mine. He did the same thing as you are. You know what?
Don't you ever think that put your link on the entire video is not a good option. Actually it is a good option to be chosen. People around the world will explore and they will find what they want from you.
Cool!! I'm still working on selecting the affiliate product and then need to start creating the videos. I'll try both ways, make few videos with the basic marketing strategy (links only in the description) and some with link in the entire video.

I don't agree with you, because it help only for traffic and not more useful for backlinks.
You can still get backlinks from youtube if you put your site on your profile.

1. Focus on something fun, something that people will want to share with friends.
2. Clearly demonstrate the product you’re marketing.
3. Make sure the video is real; no tricks, no “smoke and mirrors.”
4. Encourage viewer participation and support, i.e. — “make your own video like ours.”
5. Take advantage of YouTube tags; use adjectives to target people searching based on mood; and match your title and description to the tags.

A lot of people use video marketing, and YouTube makes that very easy.
But I would recommend that instead of making a video about your product, give out free content that is useful to the viewer, and let your website (which you link to) be the one to advertise. People will be more interested in watching the whole video that way.

Don’t forget “how to contact info”, at list your website URL at the end of the video.

Better do it fast. YouTube seems to be removing alot of stuff because of copyright infringement. I think most people visit YouTube to see material that's copyrighted. When most of that is gone then YouTube will be finished. I can't really conceive of alot of people wanting to watch videos of 12-year-olds dancing around in their bedrooms to some pop song.

I think it is getting tough for youtube to remove find such copyrighted videos ...they are getting tons and tons of such materials everyday.
