What to do about spam submissions?

Has anyone discovered a method to tell spam submissions from genuine submissions? I have put a banned word mod into my directory and listings have dropped dramatically. I have only put half a dozen words in the list. The question is, do we allow submissions that have nothing but a bunch of spammy keywords or a list of brand names in the description or perhaps send the link owner an email offering to re-write their description for a small fee? After all we are offering to review their listings for nothing, giving our time and effort when they could just as easily write an accurate description themselves. Anyone have any thoughts?:confused:

i really confused it is not spam but for doing automated submission web site not affected anyway. so no use of automated submission

If the submitter can't take the time to write an appropriate description for a free submission, reject the listing.

Remember, it is your directory. You have complete control over the quality of the listings that appear in your directory.
