Can we really get more traffic

I am still skeptical on this. If we submit our site to the directories, does it really generate traffic. Is it proven?

Instead you don't hardly get any traffic at all from directories but you get traffic from directories indirectly by increasing your backlinks and hence increasing your pagerank and hence increase in traffic through search engines.

superbike this is really a good thing to note on. Directories really don make ur site to get more traffic directly. They may do it indirectly. Better u can look for a search engine in order to make ur site more traffic.

As others have said submitting to directory gets you almost zero traffic. What gets you traffic though is the indirect increase in backlinks and PR.

there's more to marketing that directories submission. you'll need to do more than that. like social bookmarking, social networking etc. your keywords are also very important. a variation would be good because you don't want to be repeating your content everywhere.
