Last week I had the opportunity to register my real first and last name... It was unavailable for quite sometime out of no where I decide to search on Godaddy to see it was available... I had pretty tough competition, a motocross racer and a reverend who is pretty well known in one area of the country share the same first and last name as me. lol It was available, used a promo I found searching Google, best $7.15 I have ever spent online. I have it hosted for free and all it says is coming soon not sure what I am going to do with it... I have been thinking about getting into real estate, so it may come in handy... I am also crossing my fingers hoping someone with my first and last name becomes super famous so I can sell it. :D

Anyone else own their real first and last name .com? What have done with the site?

Hey Avvy, its not only expensive for your but for everyone. To get your own domain with your own name is not cheap.
Even I am waiting for the correct time..:(

I registered my full name earlier this year. It was well worth it, even though I won't have a site ready for at least another year or two. It's just nice to know though that someday I can have a home for my portfolio.
