Hi,

No a days you might notice there there are thousands of free directories available on the internet. The directory submission is used to increase the backlinks for your site but looking to the currently situation, will Google and other search engines change the algorithm regarding backlinks?

Google and other search engines have already changed their algorithms and they give less weight to directory links. One of the reasons is text to links ratio on directory pages and uniqueness of text.

Most directory pages have too many links and I have seen many directories asking for atleast 500 word description and they put only 10 links per page. Many directory owners are writing unique description for sites to increase their directory's importance for SEs.

Directory backlinks have less value than before but I still believe they are value for money :)

Yes jashmin. Backlink from "Some" directories might still have good value but finding those good ones is a big challenge in itself.

Yeah back links from directories are considered to be least worthy when comparing to the links obtained by thematic links obtained. Google algorithm already works in that way.
