What is the best search engine? Why? I have an idea but I don't know the exact reason(s). Can anyone provide an answer for this? Thanks.

I think the reason why Google is the best, and has such great marketshare, is because it delivers highly relevant results. Google also is quick to index authority Websites, so their search results reflect newer content.

Google in the top now for sure you can't ignore other Search engines, each has a unique index of pages, and differing relevance algorithms. Because of this, you often get very different results using the same query words on different engines.

Before yahoo is the top search engine but when google launch their site they are now on the top 1 because of their services.

Simply Google...due to many users use google...so making your site rank on this SE means the better chance of getting conversion....and most likely you can see from your web stat tracker that you do much organic search coming from G compared to other SE's..

1 vote for Google, accounts for 70% of my traffic. The point is too much dependency level on G would certainly cause troubles once it makes some changes in search structure
