I completely agree with everything whats been said so far. The only thing I could add would be traffic exchanges. But they do have some serious draw backs.

1. Yes fine you would see a quick rise in traffic through alexa but it will also show how long people are on your site.

So maybe people are on your site now for two minutes or so, but most traffic exchanges have a timer of fifteen seconds or so. So alexa will show that people will be on your site now for fifteen seconds or so.

Plus they will show as traffic bounces instead of finding your site through search engines.

SO, all I can say is if you want a quick turnaround on your alexa ranking yes traffic exchanges will work for you. But think of side effects such as time members will be on your site.

Maybe if you add some interesting dating tip articles on your site you may increase your alexa rankings that way.
