Even if you have an online business, offline advertising can still help.

You just have to find a cost effective way of doing so. Business cards are usually a cheap way that brings results.

Do you have any other suggestions besides business cards? What about magazines? or are they too expensive?

Thanks

I have used flyers (posters) in the past to promote a product for which I was an affiliate. I saw very little conversions. But may be I did not target the right audience, or gave it out at the wrong time. I don't understand why that promotion failed.

Another method is newspaper ads. These have given good results in the past. Should work well for most products if you can carry the advertising costs.

Emmm..if you want to promote a product or any business which is might minimize the cost, i think besides flyers, magazine and so on..perhaps newspaper could be effective way..because..there are many types of papers.you just spend a little of payment to be made to the company..people now like to read all the kind of newspapers..never failed..
example..when people are looking for jobs..they will find in newspaper instead online..
why don't we try this method..it might be working..

i agreed with geek..flyers..mostly cannot work as newspaper ads..you have to recognize your target first if you like to use flyers as your ads..have a risk..but..sometimes..it may give you the positive feedback..

Very true. Online marketing and advertising could co-exist with offline or traditional means, by complimenting one another instead of going against each other. :D

You can also distribute a press release in your local area.

Online advertising takes a very long time to really have any effect. Search engine optimization itself can take weeks before any real results are noticeable, and it’s never guaranteed. Banner adverts can take a long time to really start to be seen, and as far as building reciprocal links or blogs are concerned, these again take a long time to build up.

Local offline marketing can be very effective to drive traffic to your site. If you have a locally focused web site then it is likely that your site is backing up an existing brick & mortar business which you already advertise. You can put your web site URL on your business cards, stationary, packaging etc to let people know about your site.

The business cards are the cheap and the best method for the offline advertise ment.
