Shared hosting is good for small sites or larger sites that don't receive a lot of traffic at once.
But once the site begins to use too many resources you'll have to upgrade. I recently got a VPS and it's quite nice. But it requires more work as you manage it. And if you're a newbie at servers, it's a bit of a hassle. I recommend you pay a management fee so that the company handles your VPS.
