I just read in one thread about the domain name, that now people can register their domain names with their own name or second or something.

Is it a good news or the bad..???

I think there are advantages and disadvantages both.

What every one thinks about this.??

Do you mean .name tld?

There are a number of benefits that can be gained from choosing a domain name especially if you conduct your personal publishing primarily.

Search Engine Benefits
.name currently not popular in search engine.
Easy gather information about your friends before they start browsing

But don't you think there are disadvantages equally. Like if its on our name or on some one we love the fraud cases can increase, as there are many hackers already...

Hi friend,
My opinion is it depending on owners requirement & type of organization.

How does it depends on the owner/organization??
If owner wants to go for its own name for the site and the site is of software development company??
And as I said the case of hackers earlier.. so what do you think about that???

Youd better have a consultations with accredited domain name registrar for US. If they guarantee you that you will have no problem with that domain name as non US citizen - go ahead
Good luck

What the hell are you talking about people?

.name can be applied to almost everything.
It doesn't have to be your personal name.

For example you can use it as your company name, piece of software, book and so on.
Plain and simple

:p
